How long have you been at SPENGA or instructing at SPENGA?
I became a member of SPENGA Mokena in June 2018. I fell in love with the format, the instructors, and the results I achieved! One year later, I was ready for a new adventure and became a SPENGA instructor!
What do you love about WERKING at SPENGA?
I love seeing the camaraderie of SPENGA members – it’s heartwarming to see people support and lift each other up.
What is your favorite format to teach and why?
Turbulence. It was the first format I ever took as a member. I remember how difficult it was for me to work out continuously for 90 seconds (strength + cardio), seven times. I wondered, “Why is this so hard?”. The challenge of that day pushed me to keep coming back. Turbulence was also the format I taught during my Instructor Audition – I enjoy deciding which Elevate exercise will best push members after they’ve fatigued their muscles with 60 seconds of strength.
What made you get involved in fitness or instructing?
I have been through ups and downs with my health and wellness through the years and never had a strict workout regimen. I wasn’t satisfied with how I looked or felt, but didn’t have the motivation to change on my own. Luckily, a friend of mine introduced me to SPENGA and the rest is history.
What is your favorite restaurant in the local market?
I live in Beverly (Chicago), so my favorite restaurant is a little out of the way, but well worth it. Unidad Restaurant in Evergreen Park is a Latin Kitchen and Bar. All their dinners and cocktails are delicious, and the ambiance is cozy. I enjoy going there to celebrate special occasions or when I want to treat myself. If you decide to try it, call me, I’d love to go with! ????
What special activity do you enjoy doing or place you go to on your days off?
When I’m not working at my day job or my fitness gigs, I love spending time with my dog, Cabo, and husband, Mike. We enjoy long walks and candlelight dinners (me and Cabo, not Mike).
What song get’s you hyped?
There are so many to choose from, but one of my favorites is “Need a Little Love” by The Fratellis. It’s part of my getting ready playlist because it gives me a little extra energy and pep in my step before I start my day.
